5 Round Swiss Sections with a time control of 80 minutes+10 seconds increment per move.

Due to the size of the venue, and lack of space for accompanying parent/guardians, entries are not currently being accepted from juniors. If you have a question about this please contact the Event Organiser.

GENERAL:

  • FIDE Laws of Chess apply unless otherwise stated.
  • Games involving players rated 2400 or above will not be FIDE rated.
  • Entries to the U1700 section will be accepted from those with an appropriate rating at the time of entry.
  • Players without a current A or K rating may only enter the Open.
  • Pairings will be made using Swiss Manager and use July ratings. In the Open section FIDE ratings take precedence over ECF ratings. In the U1700 section ECF ratings will be used.
  • Default time is 20 minutes after which players can expect to be repaired where possible. Where this is not possible a rated game separate to the event will be offered.
  • The rating prize in each section will be awarded to the player(s) from the lowest rated 50% of entrants with the highest score.
  • Note that if you request a bye in round 5 it will get zero points.
  • Upon entry information will be sent to ascertain if you wish to attend the book talk / signing.
  • The venue is disability friendly.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:

  • In all disputes the decision of the Event Organiser is final.
  • No player may win more than one prize.
  • Addresses will be stored on a computer for sending out future congress/event details and players ratings will appear on the ECF web site.
  • All mobile phones / electronic devices must be turned off and not on your person during play.
  • Unrated players are not eligible for rating prizes.
  • Photographs of players may be taken during the tournament for publicity purposes. By participating in the tournament, players acknowledge and agree to these conditions. Any objection to being photographed should be notified to the Event Organiser prior to the event.
