Eligibility:

  1. Born in Nottinghamshire
  2. Currently living, or formerly resident for at least 3 years, in Nottinghamshire
  3. Working in Nottinghamshire
  4. Attending an educational establishment in Nottinghamshire
  5. Member of a chess club based in Nottinghamshire or affiliated to the Nottinghamshire Chess Association

Blitz ECF Rated Event

Sections: Championship

Ratings For the grading prizes, the highest of each entrant's ECF OTB Standard, Rapidplay or Blitz 'A' or 'K' ratings will be used. These ratings will be taken from the July ECF rating.

Rates of play: 7 minutes plus 2 seconds increment per move from move 1.

Entries will be posted on the website once received.

Prizes:

All entry fees (minus £10 for expenses) will be returned as prize money.

The winner of the trophy will hold it for 12 months or until the next championship is held, whichever is sooner.

Junior: Awarded for the highest score by a participant under the age of 18.

Senior: Awarded for the highest score by a participant either aged 65+ or from the oldest 1/4 of entrants, whichever is the greater number.

Grd1: Awarded for the highest score by a participant in approximately the middle 3rd of the list of entrants.

Grd 2: Awarded for the highest score by a participant in approximately the bottom 3rd of the list of entrants.

In the event of a tie, money prizes will be shared. No player may win more than one prize.

In the event of a tie for the Blitz Champion title the tie breaks will be: a) Sum of progressive scores b) Sum of opponents' scores c) Result of direct encounter(s) d) Play off(s) at the rate of 3' + 2"

Entry fee £5 Payable by cash on the day, at the latest before the start of round 2.
